Artemis Earns Five American Advertising Awards

Artemis, the Space Coast’s premier internet services firm, was recognized for their Internet development, responsive design, and an Integrated Identity Campaign for client, Brevard Title. Their marketing and development teams earned Addy awards for their own campaigns, Artemis business continuity and internet marketing material.

The American Advertising Awards recognizes the best in advertising. A three tiered competition, over 40,000 entries vie for awards at the local, regional and national level. Our local club is AAF-Space Coast and Eric Needle, Longbow founder, has served as President this year. We belong to the 4th District, which includes the State of Florida and the Caribbean.

This year’s awards were presented at the American Advertising Federation’s ceremony on February 27 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Cocoa Beach, Florida. ADDY-CON celebrated the comic book world with MC Stephanie Herndon as BADDY girl.

Stephanie was hilarious and energized, and joined by a crew of costumed guests including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Captain America was present, though Marvel was under-represented this year.

In 2015, local attorney Joel Boyd launched title company, Brevard Title. The Marketing team at Artemis, led by Longbow founder, Eric Needle, designed the Brevard Title brand and a series of ads that ran in area publications. This work won a Silver Addy as an identity campaign, with stationary, collateral and promotional items. The team took home Addys for both Brevard Title’s website and its use of responsive design.

“For the past three years, we’ve focused on phone-first, or mobile focused internet design,” Eric relates. “Responsive design should never be after the fact, but built in from the beginning. As we see mobile usage increasing in huge numbers, we’ve shifted gears and build websites responsive first. For the past three years we’ve done very well at the Addy Awards, particularly in this area . It’s intentional.”

Ole Goode, Artemis designer, and Eric developed custom content and great photography for the site, capturing the essence of Brevard Title in their logo, our website, and print work. For their advertising, the focus was on brand recognition and distinguishing Brevard Title as an attorney powered mortgage company, a huge advantage for the firm. Three Addy Awards as you launch a new venture helps spread the word about a company focused on quality, appealing to a discerning client base.

Artemis also earned two additional awards for their integrated campaigns. For the past three years, the strategy at Artemis was to show our expertise in web and responsive design, and promote the company by highlighting it’s advertising campaigns, testimonials, and branding.

To promote their Business Continuity service line, Eric created a one page sell sheet, full page ad, custom graphics and articles they used in social media and newsletters. And for Internet services, they created a sales kit, highlighting the team’s expertise in WordPress, Magento, and broader offerings.

Above is a collection of full page magazine ads, our service line campaign. And below our Internet Services one pagers as well as a closeup of the Internet Design And Development sell sheet.

Eric served Artemis as Marketing Director for three and a half years and continues to be a resource via Longbow. In fact, we’ve run Longbow out of their offices since 2001. Over the past three years, we’ve won 22 Addy Awards, Best of Show Digital and a District Silver Addy.

  • Creating a Contagious Brand

American Advertising Federation Space Coast collaborates with Founder’s Forum to talk about Branding

On February 23, 2016, the Space Coast chapter of the American Advertising Federation joined Founders Forum for a joint program, focused on the power of branding.

“As President of AAF Space Coast, we appreciate the opportunity to participate in this joint meeting with the Founders Forum.” Eric Needle said.

We had a great time at the event. In addition to networking between the groups, with over eighty in attendance, three programs were in play.

    Delivering on Brand Promise

The main event was speaker Kennan Burch talking about Brand Promise in Creating a Contagious Brand. Kennan is the founder of Brand Catalyst Partners, an Orlando-based marketing firm whose mission is to help companies create a brand that inspires, aligns and creates organizational conviction.

Kennan led a powerful presentation that explained with many examples that a brand is not just a logo, but rather a promise that keeps companies on a course for success. He suggests that the Apple brand promise represents their technology—and like Eve in the garden, once you bit into it, you’d never see the world the same again. That explains Steve Job’s driving passion, laser attention to detail, and his belittling of staff who didn’t understand that promise. Anything that doesn’t live up to that promise is not good enough.

In the same way for us, when our brand becomes a promise, it drives every person, every product and service to delivering. Kennan calls himself a coach who inspires awareness in his clients to better understand, lead and motivate their organizations.

    Addy Gallery Night

AAF-Space Coast presented Gallery Night, an exhibit showing work submitted for our annual ADDY Awards.

The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. The mission of the competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.

Our awards ceremony is to be held on Saturday, February 27 and themed, “ADDY-CON”. We will recognize our members and their achievements at our “Creative Super Hero celebration.”  The Gallery is a preview of this year’s awards.

    Branding Exhibit

Several of our members set up displays to show the brand work we provide. These included Bill from A Cut Above Video; Josh, Scott and Russ from Rock Paper Simple; Madison and Cathy from Your Logo by Geiger, and Eric showing branding work for Artemis IT—by Longbow.net.
